Carlos Hernandez, owner and lead technician

Appliance Repair Lake Elsinore is operated by Carlos Hernandez, a Riverside County appliance and HVAC service professional with 18 years of hands-on experience across residential and light commercial work. The current business was founded in 2025 after Carlos spent 12 years as a lead technician for a regional appliance service that closed its Lake Elsinore branch. Rather than move to San Diego with the parent company, Carlos chose to build a local service dedicated to Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, and Canyon Lake.

Carlos's background

From Riverside
to Lake Elsinore.

  1. 2007Started in appliance service with a summer job at an appliance parts distributor in Riverside
  2. 2010In the field on service calls with a mentor who had been doing the work since the mid-1980s
  3. 2025Started Appliance Repair Lake Elsinore after 12 years as a lead technician

Carlos started in appliance service in 2007 with a summer job at an appliance parts distributor in Riverside. Learning parts led to learning diagnostics, and by 2010 he was in the field on service calls with a mentor who had been doing the work since the mid-1980s. That apprenticeship shaped the philosophy this service still operates under: diagnose the actual fault before ordering any parts, and never replace a component that is working. Over the following years Carlos worked on residential appliances across Riverside County, added HVAC to his qualifications, and eventually became lead technician managing a small team.

Certifications currently held:

  • EPA Section 608 Universal certification for refrigerant handling (required for any refrigerator sealed system work, all HVAC refrigerant work)
  • Whirlpool Factory Authorised Service Network technician
  • Samsung Certified Technician for smart appliance diagnostics

Ongoing training subscriptions maintained with Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, and GE for their newer model service documentation and diagnostic procedures.

Why Lake Elsinore specifically

Local knowledge
changes the fix.

Carlos and his family live in the valley. His two kids are in local schools. The service covers Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, and Canyon Lake because those are the neighbourhoods he knows and can reach quickly. He does not claim to serve Fallbrook or Temecula because those are 40-minute drives on a good day and no genuine Lake Elsinore-based service can honestly promise same-day service that far out.

Local knowledge specific to Lake Elsinore that affects Carlos's diagnostic approach:

Map centred on Lake Elsinore, showing Wildomar, Canyon Lake, and Perris

Lake Elsinore water measures 135 to 160 ppm hardness. Scale build-up is the first suspect on many dishwasher, ice maker, and washing machine failures before any part gets ordered. This is why Carlos wrote the detailed hard-water diagnostic guide published on this site's blog.

Lake Elsinore sits in a valley basin that traps heat differently from the coastal cities. Refrigerator compressors work harder here than they would in Corona or San Bernardino, and condenser coil cleanliness matters more than most homeowners realise.

The autumn dry-wind pattern deposits fine dust that coats condenser coils faster than in other parts of the county. Annual coil cleaning is not a luxury service; it is preventive maintenance that pays for itself in extended compressor life.

The older Country Club Heights and downtown Lake Elsinore neighbourhoods have appliances that predate the smart-appliance era. The newer Canyon Hills, Tuscany Hills, and Summerly builds have Samsung and LG smart appliances with error codes and app connectivity. Both need serviced but with different diagnostic tools.

Our commitments

Five promises.
Every job.

This service commits to:

Outside of work

Lake Elsinore is
home.

Carlos volunteers with Lake Elsinore Little League as a parent coach for his son's team. His wife runs a small business in downtown Lake Elsinore. When not working or coaching, he tinkers with older Honda motorcycles.
